    The advice from doctors on tobacco use is straightforward: If you’ve never smoked, don’t start. And if you do smoke or use other tobacco products, quit. Steering clear of tobacco will reduce the chance of developing blockages of the arteries in the future.  If you have struggled to give up tobacco, ask your doctor about programs that may help you quit.
