• J. Jeffrey Marshall, M.D., FSCAI, FACC

    Dr. Marshall is the 2012-13 President of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI). He is an interventional cardiologist and the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia. 

    Dr. Marshall received his medical degree at the University of Florida, and completed his internship, residency, and chief residency at the Medical College of Virginia (MCV). He completed his clinical, research, and interventional cardiology fellowships in Richmond at MCV. He was an Assistant Professor of Cardiology at MCV and an Associate Professor of Cardiology at Emory University in Atlanta prior to helping to found the Northeast Georgia Heart Center.  

    Dr. Marshall has been active in cardiovascular research and has participated in numerous clinical and preclinical research trials and grants. He has received several awards, including Teacher of the Year at Emory University; the American Heart Association Honoree in Hall County, Georgia; and the American College of Cardiology Fellows Award for research. 

    Dr. Marshall was the founding editor-in-chief of SecondsCount.org and continues to be an active member of the Editorial Board while participating in SCAI’s Know What Counts educational  events for heart patients and everyone concerned about their cardiovascular health.
