Bring a list of questions to with your doctor about genetic testing. 

  1. What will a genetic test tell us about congenital heart disease (CHD), drug metabolism, or other conditions?
  2. How accurate is the test?
  3. Are there any ethical considerations related to the test?
  4. Can you refer me to a genetic counselor?
  5. Does insurance cover the test?
  6. Should my other family members be tested as well?
